A Norwich store is celebrating 30 years since it first opened.
On Saturday, Sportlink in Taverham is celebrating three decades of serving the local running community after becoming a staple for runners of all abilities.
Owner Neil Featherby reflected on this milestone and said: “I can’t believe it’s been 30 years since we opened our doors.
“Every pair of shoes sold and every runner who has walked through our doors has contributed to this journey. It’s a testament to the hard work of our team and the unwavering support of our community.”
The secret to Sportlink’s success, according to Featherby, is its unique approach.
“We are run by runners, for runners,” he added.
“Our staff is made up of passionate runners who understand the needs of our customers because they are part of the same community. We don’t just sell shoes; we provide personalized advice and information that only other runners can offer.”
Over the years, Sportlink has become much more than just a retail space. It is a hub for local running clubs and events, and frequently hosts trial events, workshops and charity drives.
Mr Featherby stressed the importance of fostering a community spirit and looking to the future.
He said: “Building relationships with our customers has always been a priority. We want everyone to feel welcome and supported, whether they’re training for their first 5K or their tenth marathon.
“We are excited about what the future holds.
“We’re in the middle of another running boom and we want to stay at the forefront of people’s minds when it comes to their running needs.”
