England’s fifth and final T20 international match in the Caribbean took place in the rain on Sunday, leaving the tourists with a 3-1 series victory.

West Indies were 44 unbeaten after five overs with Shai Hope on 14 and Evin Lewis on 29 when the heavens opened.

England had won the first three matches of the series before West Indies recorded a morale-boosting five-wicket victory on Saturday, with Hope and Lewis both making half-centuries as the home side chased a target of 219 .

“We are delighted with this series victory. We have played some brilliant cricket and we are back in the habit of winning,” England skipper Jos Buttler said.

West Indies captain Rovman Powell said his team had not been able to produce enough good cricket.

“It was a tough series, that’s a credit to Jos and his team. We played good cricket at times, but not for long enough periods,” he said.

“We have a model to work with as Caribbean cricketers. We go around and play in different leagues. We have to keep up our communication and make sure we are ready to go.”
