A luxury hotel and country estate has opened a new golf and dining destination in the area following a multi-million pound renovation.

Matfen Hall in Northumberland, rated five AA star, offers visitors world-class facilities.

Work has already included significant improvements to the Great Hall, Cloisters Restaurant and Bar, kitchens, bedrooms and suites.

Now, the final phase of the redevelopment is ready to reopen: The Keepers.

Using the original Keepers building overlooking the hotel’s golf course, Matfen Hall has made a number of modern adaptations.

This includes the first of its kind in the region, Foresight Hawk Golf Simulator, using the latest cutting-edge technology to deliver ultra-smooth virtual gameplay and practice sessions.

It is located in the Golf Lab which includes two golf simulators, a putting vision studio and a personalized fitting studio as well as the golf shop which offers the very latest equipment.

In addition to the latest cutting-edge golf technology, The Keepers now also offers a stylish contemporary restaurant and terrace.

With an outdoor barbecue and pizza oven offering fresh stone-baked pizzas, steaks and traditional dishes, golfers and guests enjoy an unforgettable dining experience set against the backdrop of the beautiful Northumberland countryside.

A striking new mezzanine level and wrap-around balcony offer panoramic views of the magnificent grounds as well as views of players finishing on the 18th hole of the impressive course.

James O’Donnell, Business Development Manager at Matfen Hall, looks forward to welcoming visitors to The Keepers.

He said: “I am delighted to see the final stage of the redevelopment of Matfen Hall come to fruition.

“Over the past few years, we have worked tirelessly to position ourselves as a premier luxury venue offering only the highest level of quality.

“Final works have been underway for several months and we are now delighted to reopen our clubhouse as The Keepers, offering the most advanced golf technology, an unrivalled course and a space that also offers another new high-quality dining experience here at Matfen Hall.

“Walwick Estate Group has made a substantial investment in Matfen Hall as it strives to deliver the highest standards and the refurbishment of The Keepers is in line with this vision and objective.

“The Keepers is designed for everyone, not just our golfing members, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the latest addition to our world-class venue.”
